1 Law:: pref, attached to : 1. some adjectives, nouns, and the stem form of the future tense in Persian to make an adjective importing the idea of absence of a fact or quality, eg ناآشنا ـ نا‌اميد ـ نا اهل ـ نادان ـ ناشنوا 2. some gerunds to make an abstract noun with the above description, eg نا آرامي ـ نا‌آگاهي ـ ناامني 3. some past participles (that may also be used as adjectives) or present tense forms to make an adjective importing the idea of absence of a fact or quality, or an adjective of negative importation, eg نابرده، ناخورده ـ ناديده، ناكرده and ناكردن ـ ناگفتن ـ نابردن ـ نا خوردن ـ نا ديدن – NOTE : The majority, but by no means all, Persian words beginning with نا are prefixed words with the above semantic description.
