Some have been more subtle and thus more successful in leading people away from the Word of God, using scholarly-sounding terminology to impress people with fresh new ways of interpreting the supposedly unenlightened ideas of biblical Christianity.
Like the enemies of the faith from of old, those who engage in such efforts from within the church try to reinterpret biblical truth to make their version of Christianity more palatable to the culture.
It means studying not only books on systematic theology but also biblical commentaries, as well as books on hermeneutics (the method of interpreting Scripture), church history, historical theology, and even Christian living (how to apply theology in all of life), for theology rightly understood is theology rightly applied in life.
CALLING: A BIBLICAL NOTION
The book of Esther is notable among the books of the Bible because it is the only biblical book that does not explicitly mention the Lord.
