The primary endpoint of mortality occurred in 190 out of 1133 patients taking placebo and 130 out of 1156 patients taking carvedilol.
This means that the AR for patients taking placebo was 190/1133 = 0.17 or 17% and the AR for patients taking carvedilol was 130/1156 = 0.11 or 11%.
Therefore, patients treated with carvedilol were 35% less likely to die than were patients treated with placebo.
