In this paper, we propose a secure and verifiable access control scheme based on the NTRU cryptosystem for big data storage in clouds.

The NTRU cryptosystem is a type of lattice-based cryptography [23]-[25], and its security is based on the shortest vector problem (SVP) in a lattice [26].
Section 4 proposes an improved NTRU cryptosystem to overcome the decryption failures of the original NTRU cryptosystm.
Nevertheless, it is an immature cryptosystem, and is extremely inefficient in practice, which renders it hardly applicable in real world applications.
