Azithromycin 1 g PO as a single dose or doxycycline 100 mg PO twice daily for 7 days is the treatment of choice for uncomplicated urethritis or cervicitis from chlamydia infection.
For uncomplicated gonorrhea, treat with dual therapy using ceftriaxone 250 mg IM AND azithromycin 1 g PO single dose or doxycycline 100 mg PO twice daily for 7 days.
Alternative treatment options include cefixime 400 mg PO single dose AND azithromycin 1 g PO single dose or doxycycline 100 mg PO twice daily for 7 days AND test-of-cure in 1 week.
Alternative treatment options for primary, secondary, and early latent syphilis include doxycycline 100 mg PO twice daily for 14 days, or tetracycline 500 mg PO four times daily for 28 days.
