Depending upon the requirements, various materials like silicon, glass and various elastomers ( polydimethysiloxane ( PDMS), SU8 (negative photoresist)) are used in microfluidics for making various micro- channels, micro-valves etc.
The most encountered moulding material is polydymethylsiloxane PDMS, which is heavily branched elastomer, that gains its popularity among researchers due to its multiple implementations in cell studies.
