Levothyroxine, a synthetic form of thyroid hormone that's safe for your baby, is the standard treatment.
If you're pregnant, you must continue to take levothyroxine and stay in close contact with your doctor.
* Most women on levothyroxine need to increase their dose as soon as they find out that they're pregnant.
During the first half of pregnancy, women on levothyroxine should have their TSH measured every four weeks.
