Endometriosis, polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS), uterine fibroids and abnormalities of the uterus caused by previous surgeries or scarring can reduce fertility.
Another possibility is an ovarian cyst, a fluid-filled sac that forms on or inside an ovary.
It’s benign in the majority of cases; in addition to brown discharge, it may cause abdominal pain or pressure, a dull ache in the lower back and thighs, and pain during sex and your period (though ovarian cysts don’t often cause any symptoms, they're usually detected by ultrasound).
Ovarian drilling.
The idea behind the procedure is to help improve ovulation, but studies show the results of ovarian drilling are inconsistent and not all practitioners recommend this treatment for PCOS.
