Among the population of Samarkand, Bukhara and neighboring places and also in other cities of Transoxiana (but in much smaller degree) the ethnic group which local population is called "irani/irony" is known.
Colonies of dealers and master handicraftsmen grew in Samarkand, Bukhara and other cities of the Central Asian Entre Rios.
From sources it is known that in Samarkand the Quarters of Chopardira and Ganilifar were the place of a meeting and life of scientists of the East.
The young philosopher and the poet Omar Khayyam settles in the Samarkand quarter of Gotfar - the largest cultural center of that time - in the 70th of the 11th century.
Inscriptions on monuments demonstrate to it: the architect Mahmoud from Isfahan has created a complex of madrasah and a hanaka of the tsarevitch Muhammad-Sultan in Samarkand, and the carver Yusuf Shirazi - a carved door at an entrance in Shakhi-Zinda.
