It is not uncommon for an otherwise good grout, soleplate, or chock installation to detach itself from the foundation after time due to oil Penetration into the concrete.
If you pour chocks on a Steel soleplate or rail, set the indicator to read off the Steel surface.
A soleplate or rail is not significantly deflected by the anchor bolt stress, so only the chock compression will be measured.
This same phenomenon can also be the cause of loose soleplates or rails if they are set in an epoxy grout with a high coefficient of expansion.
