offender (a persistent offender, ie مجرم با سابقه or مجرم سابقه دار( (sex offenders, ie مرتكبين جرائم تعرض جنسي – مرتكبين جرائم جنسي and متعرضين به نواميس( N.B. Persian سابقهدار is said of an offender with a record of at least one previous offense whereas English persistent offender is often said of one with records of more frequent offenses. See بزهكار and مجرم both of which are commonly-used equivalents for آثم in non-religious contexts in present-day Persian.
