(illegal, unauthorized or unjustifiable) force, compulsion or coercion – NOTE : Whereas English force denotes ‘power dynamically or statically considered’, Persian denotes only the former. Additionally, English can be used in its neutral sense and in contexts denoting (exertion of) authoritative power, eg when we say ‘Police may use force to arrest a suspect’ whereas Persian is used only to denote illegal or unauthorized use of force by a person not in authority, and invariably always for perpetrating an illegal act.
