Fiqh (Islamic jurisprudence)
هر دو واژه برهان و حق در همین ترکیب52 و ترکیبات و اضافاتی دیگر در تعدادی از عناوین کتاب و مباحث مربوط به علم کلام، فقه، حدیث، تفسیر، عرفان، حقوق و فلسفه به کار رفته‌اند53.
اثبات و ثبوت در فقه و حقوق اسلامی دارای تفاوتی بنیادین هستند، هر چند برهان در هر دو معنی به کار رفته است و در کاربرد و گفتار روزانه گاهی یکی به جای دیگری به کار برده می‌شود.
حق واژه‌ای بنیادین در علوم اسلامی از جمله صرف و نحو، کلام و فلسفه اسلامی [دینی]، تفسیر قرآن، فقه، اخلاق و عرفان اسلامی است که دایره کاربرد آن فراتر از علوم دینی است، به گونه‌ای که این واژه و مشتقات‌اش در علومی غیر اسلامی و غیر دینی، مانند جامعه‌شناسی، حقوق، فلسفه، ادبیات و غیره نیز مورد بررسی قرار می‌گیرند.
حق در چارچوب علوم حقوق، فقه اسلامی و اخلاق
در فقه اسلامی، حکم شرعی ثابت و غیرقابل انکار مانند احکام الهی که در قرآن و سنت به آن اشاره شده است یا احکامی که حاکم شرع وضع می‌کند نیز حق نامیده می‌شوند179.
