This is then multiplied by the actual irradiation to determine the energy flux reaching the collector absorber.
The solar radiation reflectance of the MCT reflector ρr,sun was calculated by integrating the measured spectral reflectance ρλ,r (Figure 6.4) multiplied by the solar spectral irradiance Gλ,sun defined in ASTM G173-03 at 1.5 Air mass, and dividing the result by the solar total irradiance as shown in equation 6.2.
The solar radiation reflectance of the MCT absorber tube was calculated by integrating the measured spectral reflectance (Figure 6.6) multiplied by the solar spectral irradiance defined in ASTM G173-03 at 1.5 Air mass, and dividing the result by the solar total irradiance using same equation.
Since the MCT was stationary, but measurements of irradiation where on a tracking system and thus were for normal incidence a cosθ term was added in the efficiency equation to adjust for the incidence angle.
