Each pluripotent neoblast generates a colony of neoblast cells (red; nuclei are stained blue) in the flatworm.
These clonogenic neoblast cells produce the differentiating cells of the regenerating flatworm.
Neoblasts are scattered throughout the body posterior to the eyes (although they are not present in the centrally located pharynx).
