The planning, delivery, evaluation, and audit of the education/training pro- vided can be the responsibility of the VSM or a designated education/training staff member or department.
It may well be the responsibility of the VSM and/or the education officer/department especially where it overlaps with established courses, or it may be considered the sole responsibility of the Board and senior management.
Support at this stage is primarily about being warmly welcomed into the unit preferably by someone the new volunteer has already met, usually the Voluntary Service Manager (VSM).
All of these kinds of questions need to be addressed in the induction programme by the VSM and will be answered after the probationary period has been fulfilled (see below).
At the end of this probationary period, a volunteer agreement/commitment will be discussed and signed by the VSM and the volunteer.
