At the Vancouver Public Library (VPL), we believed that the answer to the first and second questions was a definite yes and that the third was something we could address with the right approach.
In early 2008, the first VPL social networking accounts were created on Facebook and Twitter, and we began exploring the potential of these new tools for promoting our services and building connections with our patrons.
ABOUT VPL
VPL is the largest library system in the province of British Columbia and the third-largest system in Canada.
VPL's website underwent a full-scale redesign and relaunch in 2008, with the goal of becoming a true virtual branch rather than a static col- lection of pages.
