Law::
– (لقطة ) /loqate/ n Any lost property, not of the category of hidden treasures, and including a thing or a stray animal, that is subsequently recovered by a person who is not its original owner. Under U.S. Penal Code, a person who comes into control of property of another that he knows to have been lost, mislaid, or delivered under a mistake as to the nature or amount of the property or the identity of the recipient is guilty of theft if, with purpose to deprive the owner thereof, he fails to take reasonable measure to restore the property to a person entitled to have it. Similar laws govern this category of property in the sharia laws of Islam.
