The statement of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) Committee on Obstetric Practice titled "Nonobstet- ric Surgery During Pregnancy" recommends that an obstetric consult be obtained before surgery and that use of fetal moni- toring be individualized.
