The European Association for Palliative Care recommends short-term use of corticosteroids in palliative care, in particular where CrF is associated with signs and symptoms of anorexia- cachexia syndrome and bone or brain metastases, but it likewise points to the undesirable side effects such as myopathy, depres- sion, and sleep disorders which could increase symptoms asso- ciated with CrF [27].
